Using virtual classroom software, students have access to a real-time classroom, accessed through their computer, providing them audio interaction with the teacher, streaming video, and the ability to share information, pictures and text messages with any of the other class participants. Best of all, there is no software to buy and it is easy to use. Should you need it, there is a technical person on call to help you every step of the way. Once you are in the classroom you’ll be surprised at the feeling of community and high level of interaction between all of the participants. It truly is the next best thing to being there.

Introductory Class to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Mindful Living Programs offers a introductory class to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) using the hotComm classroom technolgoy. The class introduces participants to mindfulness meditation, a method for bringing a new level of awareness to each moment, and moving from our unhealth-ful automatic responses to daily stressors to a more deliberate, non-judgmental, and health-ful response. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Online Classes
Mindful Living Programs offers the only Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) live online class. Mindfulness meditation is a powerful way to manage stress that may well become the foundation of a comprehensive new model of clinical healthcare. Mindfulness is simply paying attention to our moment-to-moment experience. When we begin to pay attention to what is happening now, instead of anticipating the “next thing” and the “thing after that”, we begin to relax and become more comfortable in our own skin. We begin to realize our fears and anxieties don’t need to rule our lives. The MBSR class runs weekly for 8 weeks. Click here to register for the live online MBSR course.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
In the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) class, you will learn the practice of mindfulness meditation as well as receive information about depression. The course includes instruction on cognitive therapy exercises that demonstrate the links between thinking and feeling, teach you to recognize the beginnings of a depressive mood, and provides information on how to break the link between negative moods and the negative thinking it triggers. Steve Alper, L.C.S.W, an experienced psychotherapist, MBSR teacher, and who will teach a 5-day MBCT Professional Training in February, will teach this class beginning April 13, 2007. Mindfulness-Based Cancer Care Classes
Mindfulness-Based Cancer Care (MBCC) builds on the MBSR program. At its heart is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, however each class has specially designed exercises and meditations for the cancer patient and/or loved ones.  The course is based on Elana Rosenbaum's experience as a cancer patient and senior teacher of MBSR. Recommended reading is Elana's book: Here for Now: Living Well with Cancer through Mindfulness. Click here to register for the online Mindfulness-Based Cancer Care class.
